Las Vegas CES is the world’s largest tech event. It gathers 160,000+ attendees on more than 2 million square feet of exhibit space and takes place over during 4 days.
It was the opportunity for tech companies to announce new product launches and for many actors of the tech industry to learn about the latest trends.
Gargantuan, titanic, colossal… there’s no end to the words that can describe this gigantic fair.
Wear comfortable shoes! I walked more than 25km in two days (measured with an activity tracker)…
The show has a specific flavour because Las Vegas hosts the event , The hostesses are definitely part of it. They promoted their brands by wearing the according colors, trying in one way or another, to catch the attention of passersby. eHealth brought its cohort of fitness trainers, each of whom was either running, biking, stretching on stage.
Even if it is an American show in many aspects, several countries were represented. Among these were, South Korea, Taiwan… But also France, which ranked first in Europe for the number of exhibitors and attendees. No doubt, La French Tech was one of the most dynamic delegations with more than 1,000 attendees.
Despite recent events in France, Emmanuelle Macron (French Minister of Economy) and Pierre Gataz (MEDEF President) came to support the French tech industry with companies such as Withing, Archos, Parrot, Gyroptic… and many startups such as Lima or Voxtok (both rewarded as the best CES innovation).
Robots, drones, wearables, 3D printers and virtual reality were overrepresented.
Many gadgets were exhibited (some more useful than others). Among the more unusual offerings were, TVs that worked in fish tanks, drones that danced in rhythm, a belt that automatically adjusts to the size of your belly, etc!
The buzz word was connectivity. Everything is expected to be connected from padlocks to shoe soles, from dog collars to flower pots, from beds to toothbrushes.
More than ever, the “Internet of Things” has become the “Internet of Everything”.
